Pubs will always be high on my list of things to do when I’m not birding….. but what if you’ve got kids or are under 16 yourself? Or what if your not that into birding or pubs….(hard to believe I know) ๐Ÿ™‚

Pleasurewood Hills

Fun for all the family…if you’re into rollercoasters

Africa Alive

Great safari park near Lowestoft where the birdwatcher of the family can pretend they’re in the Serengeti while looking at Meerkats and Rhinos ๐Ÿ™‚

Oasis Camel Park

The only camel park in the country where you can get up close and personal to your favourite humped animals….great for the kids.

Chinny’s Sports Bar

If you fancy a game of pool or snooker then Chinny’s is your place….located in Halesworth not far from the coast.

Adnams Brewery Tour

Situated in Southwold, Adnams Brewery not only create beers and spirits for it’s pubs around Suffolk but also has brewery and distillery tours.

Snape Maltings

Snape maltings has a bit of everything, a pub, shops, nature walks and music events throughout the year.

The Cut, Halesworth

This great little venue has loads of events, music, film, plays and art going on throughout the year plus a nice little cafe is you’re a bit peckish

Orford Castle

One of the best preserved castle keeps, overlooking Orford Ness and the RSPB Havergate Island. The castle is run by English Heritage who have guided tours or audio guides if you want to go it alone. In Orford itself there are three pubs to keep you fed and watered, walks along the river and boat trips to Orford Ness or Havergate Island.

Southwold Pier

The pier in Southwold has great foodย in the restaurant, a cafe where you can get a lovely bit of cake, a shop and a wacky amusement arcade where weird and wonderful mechanical wonders will cheer up even the most miserable old sod.
